15 December 2006 - BRABY’S NEW DOORS DON’T LET THE INSECTS BITE
Braby, the world’s leading manufacturer of silos, tanks and fabrications has a brand new product to aid manufacturers in keeping their products clean, dry and uncontaminated when in storage.

The Bristol-based firm has started fitting plastic skirt doors to its silos to create a much better seal. Braby’s new style doors have been fully moulded from ABS to the shape of the skirt, have a complete wrap and seal structure, and their twin hinges and twin locks create a tight and 100 per cent weatherproof fit.

Paul Mayer, Director of Marketing and Sales, explains how the new system will benefit customers: “The design is a standard size, so will fit all silos. Due to the way it has been moulded to fit, and with the added advantage of venting-louvers and insect mesh, the new doors will enable the skirt area of the silo to be maintained dry and free from insects and airflow, and this is particularly important in the storage of food stuffs like flour.”

The clever new design also means the doors are reversible and can be opened from the left or the right, which makes them more flexible to use, and due to their tight fit, they are much less susceptible to the damage and buckling that metal doors tend to receive.

A number of Braby’s clients have already benefited from the new style doors, which are soon to become standard on all silos. “A number of firms that use silos have also complained that as well as getting bent and out of shape, the metal doors are a target for thieves because they can easily be removed and then sold on. With Braby’s new plastic doors, there is no such problem,” comments Mr Mayer.
