 Worthing based animators, Crash Test Munkii, have re-launched a new look website to help teach skills and disciplines within a whole range of ‘urban’ sports, starting with skateboarding, street football and basketball. The new online tricks guide aims to help you master moves such as The Ollie and Keepy Uppy in no time at all. Watch as ‘The Crash Test Munkii’ goes through moves, step-by-step and in slow motion, in the online basic 3D animations so that you can learn them by yourself. You are then able to download the moves to your iPod, mobile phone or desktop, so that you can watch them again and again while you practice.
Crash Test Munkii – or Butler, as he is better known, is the animated character that demonstrates the moves and is set to take the world by storm. By using carefully planned and choreographed 3D animations, Butler will teach technically correct moves and disciplines, instilling the elements of persistence, participation and not least of all, fun into sports. Company directors Darrell Mott and Steve Woodard have big plans for their mischievous urban character, “Butler not only teaches urban sports skills but will hopefully inspire and motivate kids to get out there and have a go. Childhood obesity is becoming an increasing problem in the UK and too many children are inactive and lack enthusiasm for sports. We hope that The Crash Test Munkii will inspire and motivate kids to learn new sporting skills in a way that they will still find cool and interesting” says Steve. As well as teaching the latest urban sports moves, the new look website now allows members to upload their own videos and show off their newly learnt skills. Other members can then log in, rate the moves and leave comments. The website also has online munkii shop, Butlers blog, free downloads and tons of cool stuff to see – and the best bit is that it’s FREE to register.
